science

Last night at dinner I watched Squish remove the straw from her smoothie, hop it into her oatmeal and land it squarely in her scrambled eggs. Her intense focus told me everything I needed to know as she speared her eggs over and over... Of course, Robs, who was sitting directly across the table, watched the entire dramatic scene from start to finish- and openly expressed her disgust. "Robs," I said, as I took the straw and handed Squish her spoon, "To Squish, everything is a giant science experiment." And it is. Squish, our mini-scientist, is testing boundaries. She's throwing objects on the ground to pick them up and throw them again. She's taking things apart, opening lids, and asking all kinds of questions. She toddles around leaving a wake of everyday, practical science. We find it completely adorable- and then we find the bathtub.
