Silica.

I was at Home Depot looking at cupboard door knobs,
when Squish found (and tasted) this packet.

I have no idea where she found it- while sitting in her car seat.

But to save my weary soul, I'm going to blame it on the fact that she can't yet read-
(even though we all know it's due to my superior mothering.)

Customer Service gave me the number for Poison Control,
and a friendly person named Kim reassured me everything would be okay.
Silica Gel (I discovered) is as harmless as dirt and tastes almost as good.

xoxo,

Mother of the Year.

  1. How the???? mystery packets of silica gel should NOT appear in wee lass's car seats!!

Maybe this will make you feel better. You know those little oxygen absorber packets they put in number 10 cans at the cannery? Yeah. I baked one into a loaf of bread. Tasted awful. And I won't tell you how long, or how many slices it took me to realize what I'd done. Luckily, no one was poisoned by it. But I felt like a shmuck. Which was almost more poisoning than actual poison. And you are a great mom. Because you called poison control :)
