I need advice.

We've had another tragedy.

I love love love... this lens.

But I've now sailed through two of them.
Both times the tragedy was out of my hands.
And more fluke than fault.

(This time the auto focus took it for the team.
As opposed to the casing.)

So... this is where I want your opinion.

Would you shell out the money for another one?

Or save for something perhaps more durable?
...or different...

Opinions? Advice?
Any lenses you absolutely love?

Do tell...

  1. I would say save up for something different. You already know you like it...so venture out, and you can always fall back on what you love later.

I love the pictures. Your kids are adorable. I miss you!

  4. My opinion is buy another. Hands down. That lens is dirt cheap and you could buy several of that kind for one of another kind. (On average, but I also know there are multiple price points on lenses.) And besides, we had to replace our camera body due to an unfortunate (and preventable) accident at one point. So consider yourself lucky. :) But that totally stinks, Christine. Sorry man.

  5. I would love a 50 1.8 and at $99.95 that one is super cheap. Maybe that is why you've had so much trouble!? I am not a Cannon girl, but I love my 17-55 2.8, not much I can't do with it!
