Yesterday Robyn, Erik and I took to the backyard with my nephews. We made tails out of red terry cloth, tucked them into our waistbands and then chased each other all over the place. It was rowdy. The boys were diving into the grass. I was running around with Erik on my hip, who, couldn't decide if he was scared of all the commotion, or loving it. He was flip flopping between the two emotions.
Robyn, on the other hand, knew exactly how she felt about the situation.
It wasn't her cup o' tea.
A couple minutes into the game and she was sitting on the back porch steps. I tried to get her to play with us again, but she insisted she was "just fine" which is her very polite way of saying "I'm definitely not moving from this spot, regardless of what you say."
So I let it go.
Robyn, is her own woman. A fact that makes my little heart glad.
So a few moments later, with someone hot on my tail (quite literally) I looked over and saw this...
My little mermaid with her "huge long hair"....
(made of red terrycloth)
...and singing her little heart out.
Keep that confidence.
Seeing this made my week.
Change that.
I won't be needing a birthday present next year.
I'm content with just being part of her world.
Watching her grow up is so fun.
Oh my gosh, that is SO sweet and cute! Love it!
