We drove to the airport to pick up my family.
We drove to visit Steve at work,
and then home to our little house with a green striped wall.
Apparently, the four of them hadn't eaten or slept in over 24 hours,
so we made them grilled quesadillas,
and sent them to nap.
...mostly...
Mostly we just talked and talked and talked...
I never dreamed that in one year,
I'd be living close enough to see them
whenever I felt so inclined.
It never even crossed my mind,
that one year later,
I'd be combing through old photos...
remembering everything Louisiana,
and wondering how time goes so fast.
and wondering how time goes so fast.

I love living close to family.
I miss our independence.
I'm grateful to be where we are.
I'm aching to find our own house.
I'm looking forward to the next year.
This last one sure was fun.

you will have independence young grasshopper. first you must have house. don't worry it will come!! i was once in your shoes, thinking the very same thing. there's nothing quite like burrowing into your own space and not coming out until you feel like it :)
