Mae will not eat rice cereal.

Mae will not eat oatmeal cereal.

Mae will not eat sweet potato.

Mae will not eat banana.

Mae will not eat applesauce.

Mae will not eat squash.

I have tried each one.

(Individually, of course.)

Giving her taste buds the time they need to accustom to the thrill ride.

And still, no deal.

She turns them all away with equal disgust.

Just last night, after a (final) failed attempt at squash,

I reasoned that if she was intent on being my milk baby,

I would be content with being her milk mama.

I am sure it will figure itself out.

And then Erik brought his sandwich to her.
