Yesterday I was a tourist.
It was so bright I considered the whole song and dance routine:
the wide brimmed hat paired with a camera.
(But then I thought better.)
The place was already crawling with them.
Instead we climbed all over these trains while the others stared.
And then posed for a photo op that included but was not limited to
the name of the city we were tourist-ing.
It was great.
But the best part?
Have you ever seen Newsies?
It's like finally putting a face to a name... or a name to a face.
I've had the song in my head for two days.
Yep - I'm pretty much still in love with Jack.... when I was 14 I would sleep with the video cover of Newsies under my pillow. Pathetic! :) Someday I'll make it to Santa Fe....
ReplyDeletesanta fe! are you there? do you swear you won't forget me? if I found you would you let me come and stay? I ain't gettin' any younger, and before my dyin' day, I want space! not just air! let 'em laugh in my face, I don't care! save a place! I'll be there ... *sigh*. I heart Christian Bale :) :) You definitely had better weather when you toured Santa Fe than we did. It was hot, cloudy, hazy ... and about as close to humid as New Mexico gets. Needless to say, it was a car tour :)
ReplyDeleteYou really are so amazing with that camera of yours! It sounds like you guys are having a great time. Your kids are so grown up. Could Robyn really be three and Erik really be one? Wow does time fly. Miss you!
