Follow this train...

It was a great day.

Let me explain.

For the past six weeks I have run atleast seven miles a day.

For three of those past six, I've pushed these two darlings.

They're excellent running buddies.

But 24 pounds of Enrique + 30 pounds of Robs + 23 pounds of stroller

Spread across seven miles = a very good workout.

Perhaps it's been a little too good.

Because in addition to that daily workout... I (still) alone supply the complete caloric value of the daily intake of one small (relatively speaking) child, leaving myself... believe it or not. Slightly fatigued at the end of every day.

(Smooshed vegetables are not yet his thing...)

So... in honor of all those great workouts we've been accomplishing-

We (as in my running buddies and I) celebrated.

And took a rest.

I decided we needed a day off. Which is big... to anyone who knows myself or my running habits.

So, in the middle of our celebration, we discovered (utter delight) that the weather had decided to celebrate with us.

It was gorgeous outside.

So we played, in laundry baskets.

Mostly because they're fun.

But also because they double as other things. Such as rocket ships.

And if I were to end the story right there- it would have been a delightful day.

But it gets better.

After a lunch of spaghetti, peas, and buttered bread- both of my children took a nap.

At the same time.

I was on cloud nine.

I didn't know what to do with myself.

I couldn't wash dishes because the noise would have woken the sleeping babes.

(We have a very... petite house... with wood floors. Which means we have great echoes.)

So with all possibility of being productive crossed off...

I sat down to enjoy a nice, cup o'...

Photoshop Lightroom.

And I loved it.

Every minute of it.

It was a great day.

End of story.

Oh. And if you're interested... Photoshop Lightroom has a free 30-day trial you can download (here), so that you too can fall in love.

  2. So my splurge is to run on Saturdays without Elena and the "so not a jogging stroller" stroller and then I feel SUPER FAST!! Because I always underestimate the amount of resistance that darn stroller really adds :) But you better believe I'm not running 7 miles.

  4. Seven miles a day, you crazy woman. I don't know why I am acting surprised, because really I am not. Just quite impressed. I am also very impressed that your kids will sit in the stroller for that long. You've trained them well. Miss you!
