It took me a couple of hours... but I've done it.
I've taken thriftiness to a whole new level.
I'm always looking for inexpensive ways to decorate... especially with color. And Robs' room was painfully bland. Yes... I sewed cute little curtains... put up a mirror... got colorful bedding... but it just wasnt enough.
Unfortunately the walls in her room are big... which is fantastic for creative decorating- but very hard on a tight budget. For some reason, expansive equates with expensive in wall decor.
And then I saw it: the tree... with little flowers, and butterflies, and birds, and all things good and girly. And besides being adorable, it's removable, meaning you stick it on one wall, remove it when you feel inclined, and then stick it on a whole different wall in a whole different location... quite the all around fantastic little decoration for the transitional type! I fell in love with the idea. Think with me... Tree... baby's room... nursery- cute and creative. The idea is genius.
And then I looked at the price.
My little heart dropped and I quickly closed the web page. No point in tempting myself. Who knows what I would do in a moment of weakness?
But genius is never one to give up. It hit me and I hightailed it to Walmart. Seven dollars later, I came home with the beginnings of a beautiful little nursery. A little modpodge here, a little tissue paper there... some creatively cut cardstock... topped off with a little ribbon... and voila! I had my trees!
Thank you genius... what would I do without you?
i mean this in the most respectful way, but you make me sick. seriously christine, you're the best mom.
